Engagement Session, Luke & Sarah, Lynchburg, VA

After waiting out a sudden rainstorm, which did not dampen the mood of this recently engaged couple in the least, I sent out to capture Luke and Sarah’s love and contagious joy that made every moment of our time together enjoyable. Ever since I have known Sarah, her laugh has brightened up a room, she loves generously, and she treasures the small, magical moments that makes life worth living. When she told me about her good friend of many years that she was now dating, I knew this man must have qualities that were marriage material to hold her devotion over such a long span of time. When he moved across the country to be closer to Sarah, it was obvious that a life-long match was in the making.

Luke, while I had only just met you, I can’t even say how happy I am for you to be with one of my dear friends and to watch the way you love, serve, and adore her. I hope you never stop. Thank you both for making these couple hours in my hometown come to life in new and memorable ways. I can’t wait to capture your wedding later this year!!!

Newborn Session, Brinly Family, Lynchburg, VA

This portrait session has a special place in my heart for several reasons. I have been developing a greater appreciation for at-home portrait sessions, but capturing this family during the Christmas season had a magic all its own. Steven was one of my husband’s instructors during aircraft mechanic school. For this shoot we were able to use the small-scale airplane that my husband had a part in designing and creating during his year of training under Steven. In additional to their two adopted children, this winter has brought their own special addition to the Brinly home. Whitney, you are beautiful wife and mother, and I know you are going to adapt wonderfully to this new season of motherhood. Thank you Steven and Whitney for inviting me into your home for these couple of hours, I treasured every moment and trust you will treasure these captures both now and in the years to come.

Everyday Portraits, Russo Family, Lynchburg, VA

This family has come to mean so much to me throughout the past couple of years. I love pouring into their two children by teaching them music each week and they more then pour into me in return in countless way. I have loved getting to know little pieces of their life and interact with them on a weekly basis. Whenever I have a chance to get my students and friends in front of my lens it’s always a win-win for me and I trust they feel the same. Christopher and Elaine, you have two wonderful treasures and I love the way you still adore each other through all life brings your way. Thank you for this evening, for letting me introduce you to a new place in our little town, and for letting me call you friends.

Everyday Portraits, Rutherford Family, Old Mill Farm

It’s a wonderful combination to have a new venue to explore and a returning friends and clients in front of my lens. So grateful to the owners of Old Mill Farm for letting our entire group wander their property and enjoy their beautiful farm during this gorgeous October evening. Chris and Jamie, I so enjoyed being able to document the growth of your boys and how much Liam has changed even these past few months. Working with couples and families like you are the highlight of my weekends, so thank you again for this time.
